Unique Dutch gilded silver chalice from the Art Nouveau era.
Beautiful Dutch Art Nouveau chalice of gilded silver with typical "whiplash" ornaments and beautiful chased ornaments. With the head of Christ as the center piece and around it "the miraculous bread multiplication" and the "Lamb of God". Opals and rose diamonds are placed around the head of Christ. On the underside of the cuppa are sawn-out chased sunflowers. On the cuppa edge and on the foot edge are Latin texts. The translation of the text in the cuppa border is: Jesus Christ is the same, yesterday, today and for all eternity. Hebrews 13, 8. The translation of the text on the edge of the foot loudly: I myself no longer live, Christ lives in me. Galatians 2,20. (This is a Willibrord translation).
Few real Art Nouveau chalices have been made in the Netherlands and this is a very nice one!
This unique chalice is in very good condition and all parts are original! The gilded silver chalice is also in its original storage box.
